Sage "I used the word blue because it's a colour of the ladybug. It can be under leaves, they eat leaves. They have lots of legs, that's like 6 legs."

What's The Time Mr Wolf?

I am learning to tell the time by knowing the different parts of an analog clock.

Sage "When you point at the numbers on a clock you count by fives. You can count by 1’s to 12. The short hand tells the hours. The really, really big hand tells the seconds and the big hand tells you the minutes."

Ladybug Collage

Here we sketched ladybugs onto black paper. Then we cut out the ladybugs and leaves. We added spots and strips to add detail to our ladybugs and leaves. It was very time consuming when it came to gluing all the pieces together, but we done it!

Sage "I liked my wings because it was the only thing that was red and I like the colour red. I was hard to draw all the black parts of the body. I would change the ladybug to the colour blue."

Memorable Moment

I am learning to write about a funny moment.

Sage "It was easy to think of funny moment because its easy to think about my family. I don't find it hard to write about this story."

Reading Out Loud!

 I got to read a book to my class and I really enjoyed it and so did my classmates.

Maths Game

   This is one of my favourite maths games to play during    maths tumble.

Sage "This game is about throwing the die and you can have a turn. It's only for two, three or four players. It's in my group maths tub. There's super quick step and go back. I like playing this with anyone in my group."

Reading Eggs

Reading Eggs is an online reading program that helps children learn to read. Hundreds of online reading lessons, phonics games and books to read.

Sage " I don't like doing it everyday at home it makes me tired because there are so many games and I have to do it on the computer because the ipad died. The lesson above is about the rolling 'r' or should I say the controlling 'r'. It controls the vowels. I like doing it at school because we have to change groups." 

Bubble Wands

This week Room 5 made bubble wands.  They wanted to see if different shaped wands made different shaped bubbles.

We discovered that no matter what shape the bubble wands were, the bubble will always come out in the shape of a sphere.

For inquiry we are learning all about Bubbles.

We are learning what bubbles are made out of and describing what they look like too!

Here we were making bubbles to help us describe bubbles by using our five senses.

ICT Tagul - Word Cloud

The cat sniffed in bins and sniffed in tins.

At Elm Park School we have buddy classes, where a junior class is buddied up with a senior class. Room 5’s buddy class is Room 24 with Miss Hughes.

Room 5 was fortunate to have their buddy class help them do a word cloud on the laptop called Tagul.

With the help of our buddy class we were able to come up with our own word cloud that was related to the Big book Ratty Tatty Cat.
